What is a Secondary Market?

Typically, a Secondary Market refers to a marketplace where privately held shares are traded as opposed to stock markets where shares of public companies are traded.

In the case of the PSTX, traders can trade the shares of a growing number of companies that have raised funds through Equity Crowdfunding (ECF) on pitchIN.

In this market, traders engage in trading shares amongst themselves, affording them the flexibility to enter or exit investments. The Secondary Market fosters shareholder liquidity by enabling them to transform their shareholdings into cash. Share prices are dictated by the interplay of supply and demand.

In Malaysia, pitchIN operates a Secondary Market for ECF shares that is recognised by the Securities Commission (SC) and which is contingent on the applicable rules and guidelines.
