INSUFFICIENT SUPPLY OF DURIAN
In May 2019, China was finally approved to import durians directly from Malaysia. Durian ranks first among China's top 5 imported fresh fruits. Based on the current consumer market, durian has huge potential for development.
In the past several years, Malaysian durians have been highly regarded by international communities. From Hollywood celebrities, and international superstars, to famous chefs and national leaders, many of them have become durian fans and at the same time making the fruit more popular.
MALAYSIA DURIAN PLANTATION IS UNDERDEVELOPED
The Malaysian government has been paying great attention to agricultural development. Different agricultural products brought brilliant achievements for Malaysia in each decade, such as rubber in the 1960s, palm oil in the 1980s, and durian at present. Malaysia's agricultural GDP is RM 99.07 billion. At present, it accounts for 7.54% of the total national GDP and becomes one of the national economic pillars.
At present, palm oil plantation is the leading agricultural industry in Malaysia, with an area of 5.8 million hectares, while durian only occupies 76 thousand hectares. It can be seen that durian plantation is still an underdeveloped industry. Most durian plantations are small-scale. Big-scale commercial farming requires comprehensive management systems.
As a Malaysian leading durian plantation and export company, Newleaf is involved in the full spectrum of the agribusiness value chain, from upstream to downstream activities.
PLANTATION AND FARMING
Newleaf is responsible for developing and maintaining farming operations. Durian trees take approximately 5-6 years to produce yield. A 6 to 10-year-old durian tree can produce up to 150 fruits annually and increases its yield gradually as they grow older.

I-FARM
Newleaf’s intelligent agricultural management is different from the traditional agricultural practices. Newleaf monitors the entire durian farm all the time with advanced technologies to ensure that the durian harvest is not affected. At the same time, Newleaf is also always aware of the latest state of its durian trees synchronously by reading the data through an intelligent system.

MANUFACTURING AND PROCESSING
Newleaf imposes a stringent operation standard and quality control on each and every process.
DURIAN PULP
Apart from fresh whole durian, durian pulp is also in high demand, especially in the export markets. We select only the best quality fruits beginning from the processing stage. Each pulp is carefully inspected for any potential defects before being put through a hydrogen peroxide decontamination process and finally vacuum packed to preserve freshness.
NITROGEN FAST-FREEZE TECHNOLOGY
The liquid nitrogen fast-freeze technology used ensures the preservation of up to 95% of the durian texture and taste. Nitrogen frozen durian can last for 18 months.

LOGISTIC AND TRANSPORTATION
Logistics is an important element of a successful supply chain that helps increase the sales and profits of businesses that deal with the production, shipment, warehousing and delivery of products. Moreover, a reliable logistics service can boost a business’s value and help in maintaining a positive public image. In selecting our logistic partner, we choose DHL.
EXPLORE THE WORLD WITHOUT ANY FEAR
We continuously look at other markets we could tap into to increase reach and revenue. Our collaboration with DHL provides a logistics strategy to deliver our customers the right product, at the right quality, at the right price, at the right time, and in the right place.

Delivering fresh and great-tasting durians to our customers is our fundamental commitment. We love to see our customers’ smiling faces when they receive our products. We’re proud that our brand is trusted by customers as a quality brand of durians.

By working with the most efficient and reliable logistics company in the world, we are able to deliver fresh durians directly to customers in Hong Kong and Singapore through customized doorstep delivery.

DEMAND FROM CHINA MARKET
In May 2019, China was finally approved to import durians directly from Malaysia. Durian ranks first among China's top 5 imported fresh fruits. From the perspective of the current consumer market, durian has huge space for development.

China's total durian import amount has risen a total of 20 times in 11 years, from US$ 140 million in 2010 to US $2.8 billion in 2020. We believe that in the next few years, as the supply of durians meets the demand gradually, durian will be the top imported fruit in China.

GLOBAL ATTENTION AND POTENTIAL GROWTH
As previously mentioned in the problem statement, Malaysian durians have garnered plenty of attention from international communities. Therefore, Malaysian durians have gained popularity and recognition globally.
As reported by CNN, an International media, Malaysian durian will become one of the major agricultural export products.

HIGH YEILDING CROP
Maybank said that with the rising of global demand for durians, the Malaysian plantation industry will no longer be dominated by palm oil, and durian plantations will be the new favourite of agriculture.
EDGE Financial Daily has also reported that the yield per acre of durian plantation can be up to eight times of palm oil, a potential benefit we should also consider.

Durian Wholesalers, Manufacturers, Retailers, Exporters and Overseas Importers.
Newleaf is responsible for developing and maintaining the farm operation. Durian trees take approximately 5-6 years to produce yield. A 6 to 10-year-old durian tree can produce 50 - 120 fruits annually. Neweleaf expects the plantation to be self-sustainable from year 6th onward, with projection yield of 20% to 35% per annum. As the durian trees grow older, the yield is expected to increase gradually.
INSUFFICIENT SUPPLY OF DURIAN AND SURGE IN DURIAN FARM PRICE
The average farm price of Musang King has risen by 500 percent in 9 years, from RM9/kg in 2012 to RM 53/kg in 2021. Current data shows that China’s demand for Musang King Durian is much greater than Malaysia’s supply capacity.

At present, Thailand is the largest exporting country of durians. In 2020, 620,000 metric tons of durians were exported from Thailand, which occupies 95% of the world's durian market.

The main export destination of Thailand durians is China. In 2018, China imported a total of US$ 2.8 billion worth of durians and became the largest durian importing country in the world. In addition, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Canada, and Australia are also major durian importing countries.
One percent of the 1.4 billion Chinese population have eaten durians, 95% of which are from Thailand. China is still an underdeveloped baby market for durians. With the rising quality of life demands in China, The Musang King Durian has become a kind of premium fruit and widely loved by the Chinese. Now, Musang King Durian can be bought easily in first-tier cities and online stores in China.
