Incentives for ECF Issuers
There are three programs that you may be apply for if you are raising funds via Equity Crowdfunding.
- NIMP 2030 Strategic Co-Investment Fund (CoSIF)
- Malaysia Co-Investment Fund (MyCIF)
- MTDC-pitchIN Equity Crowdfunding Programme
A. CoSIF
The NIMP Strategic Co-Investment Fund (CoSIF) is jointly launched by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC). CoSIF is a RM131.5 million fund to be distributed through equity crowdfunding (ECF) and peer-to-peer (P2P) platforms to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and mid-tier companies (MTCs) in strategic sectors.

How much investments can I apply?
NIMP CoSIF will co-invest in MSMEs and MTCs which are within the 21 NIMP 2030 sectors
- Priority Sectors at a 1:2 ratio, up to a maximum of RM10M (incl. Aerospace, Chemical, E&E, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices)
- New Growth Sectors at a 1:2 ratio, up to a maximum of RM10M (incl. Advanced Materials, Electric Vehicles (EV), Renewable Energy, and Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage)
- Other NIMP 2030 Sectors at a 1:4 ratio, up to a maximum of RM5M
Do I qualify?
To qualify for CoSIF, your business must:
- Operate within one of the 25 sectors (Priority, New Growth and Other Sectors) identified by the National Industry Master Plan
- Must be registered with MIDA, and possess either a Manufacturing License or an ICA 10 exemption letter
- Fulfil the project criteria - either strategic and high-impact projects, or mission based projects aligned with NIMP 2030

B. MyCIF
The Malaysia Co-Investment Fund (MyCIF) was introduced by the Federal Government to support and participate in fundraising activities on both Equity Crowdfunding (ECF) and Peer to Peer (P2P) financing platforms.

How much investments can I apply?
MyCIF will co-invest at a 1:2 ratio, up to a maximum of RM1M, for ECF campaigns that meet the requirements of their:
- Food Security Scheme (i.e., upstream segment of agriculture and bio-economy sectors); or
- Environmental & Social Impact Scheme (i.e., create impact in Community, Education, Environment, Food Security, Healthcare)
MyCIF will co-invest at a 1:4 ratio, up to a maximum of RM1M, for ECF campaigns that does not qualify for the 1:2 co-investment scheme.
How does it work?
- Apply to host an ECF campaign on pitchIN
- We will help you to submit an application to MyCIF upon the campaign meeting 80% of its fundraising target
- Investments from MyCIF is subject to the approval of the MyCIF Secretariat. MyCIF reserves the right to reject any application.
- If you have received investment from MyCIF, you will be required to provid business updates to MyCIF (via pitchIN) on an annual basis.
C. MTDC-pitchIN ECF Programme
MTDC have allocated RM10 mil to invest in technology-based companies that raise funds on pitchIN. Refer to the MTDC website for full details about the MTDC-pitchIN Equity Crowdfunding Programme
How much investments can I apply?
Up to 30% of fund to be raised or maximum RM900k, whichever is lower, per campaign.
What are the requirements?
- Incorporated in Malaysia
- Majority owned by Malaysian
- IP-backed technology
- Commercial ready prototype
- Approved to host an ECF campaign on pitchIN
- Investment tenure of 3 to 5 years via Redeemable Convertible Preference Shares (RCPS)
How does it work?
- Apply to host an ECF campaign on pitchIN
- We will help to facilitate an engagement session with MTDC.
- Investments from MTDC is subjected to the approval of their Investment Committee.
